
Women's Basketball Travels to Ohio University

Athens, Ohio - The Louisville women's basketball team will face Ohio on Sunday, Nov. 14 at 2:00 p.m. in the Convocation Center. The Cardinals are looking to rebound from their season opening loss against No. 4 Tennessee on Friday night.
Junior forward Monique Reid leads the Cardinals in scoring and rebounding with 19 points and nine rebounds. Freshman Shoni Schimmel ranks second on the team in scoring with nine points per game. Schimmel also added three assists and three steals. Junior guard Becky Burke came off the bench to give the Cardinals eight points, hitting 2 of 5 from behind the arc.
The game is the season opener for the Ohio Bobcats. Earlier in the week Ohio defeated Ohio Dominican 66-36 in exhibition play. Four players registered eight or more points in the game. Junior transfer Tenishia Benson scored a game-high 17 points and pulled down seven rebounds. Sophomore Ashley Fowler added 14 points, while Thia Gholson and transfer Alesia Howard chipped in nine and eight points, respectively.
It is the first meeting between the two teams. The game will be broadcast live on WKRD and on www.UofLSports.com. Jim Kelch will call the game while Paul Sanderford will add the color commentary.
