
Softball Plays Host to Morehead State Friday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - - The University of Louisville softball team will wrap up the 2010-11 fall season with a single game against Morehead State Friday at Ulmer Stadium at 7 p.m.
Entering their final weekend of fall competitiong, U of L has posted a 4-0 record. The Cards opened fall play on Sept. 25 with a 4-0, 1-0 sweep of Bellarmine at Ulmer Stadium. Louisville then traveled to Bowling Green, Ky., for the Lady Topper Fall Classic and defeated Western Kentucky 3-1 and Lindsey Wilson 5-0.
The Cardinals are coming off a 41-18 season in which they earned their seventh consecutive NCAA appearance and advanced to the regional finals before falling to Women's College World Series participant Tennessee. The 2010 season also marked the fifth time in U of L softball history that the team has won 40 or more games in a season. Louisville returns eight starters and 14 letterwinners from last year's team including reigning BIG EAST player of the year Chelsea Bemis and BIG EAST selections Tori Collins, Kristin Austin, Colby Wherry and Alicja Wolny.
