Louisville, Ky. - - The 2008 Louisville football seniors put their abilities on display Thursday morning at the annual Pro Day workout for professional scouts.
Representatives of approximately 20 National Football League teams put the former Cardinal players through a workout that began about 9:00 a.m. and completed around 12:30 p.m. The seniors were tested in the 40-yard dash, vertical jump, agility drills, various position-specific drills and weightlifting.
Wide receiver Chris Vaughn and cornerback Woodny Turenne posted the best 40 time among the '08 seniors, clocked as fast as 4.35 seconds by Vaughn, Turenne was clocked at 4.46.
Center Eric Wood continues to impress the pro scouts with his agility. He didn't run the 40-yard dash, but did participate in offensive line drills.
"Overall, it was a very good day," Coach Steve Kragthorpe said. "I thought we had a couple guys who really helped themselves today. I thought Hunter Cantwell came back and threw the ball very well and Chris Vaughn ran well and caught the football. I was happy for all of our former players."
Three of the Cardinals' seniors, Wood, Cantwell, and defensive tackle Adrian Grady had been worked out already by the scouts in February at the official NFL combine. Those players were also on hand today for additional evaluation.
The NFL Draft is scheduled for April 25-26.
