
Women's Tennis Falls Short To Long Beach

The No. 75-ranked University of Louisville women's tennis team fell 6-1 to Long Beach State as the 49ers swept the doubles point and picked up five singles wins to beat the Cardinals.
The 49ers started out the day with a trio of wins in doubles. Hannah Grady and Jessica Weeks lived up to their top billing with an 8-2 win over U of L's Natalia Baez and Bianca Gorbea, and Deborah Armstrong and Lisa Sutton clinched the doubles point with a 8-4 win over Lindsey Jones and Jo-Ann Van Aerde.
In singles, Long Beach State swept the top five spots. Louisville got its lone point from freshman Sarah Miller who battled to a 7-6 win in the first set and then fell 6-0 in the second before digging in for the 10-6 tiebreaker.
The Cardinals will play Loyola Marymount at Long Beach tomorrow.
