LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino and senior guard Andre McGee met with members of the media on Friday at the Yum! Center to preview Saturday's game against Cincinnati. The Cards and Bearcats will tip off at 2:04 p.m. ET at Fifth Third Arena in Cincinnati, Ohio, and the game will be televised by WHAS-TV in Louisville.
Louisville will play its first of two straight on the road on Saturday, the first of two games in three days on the road for U of L. Louisville won for the 12th time in its last 14 games as the Cardinals beat Providence 94-76 on Wednesday. Six Cards scored in double digits in the game, led by Edgar Sosa's 18 points. Junior Earl Clark is averaging a team-high 12.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, while senior Terrence Williams leads the Cards with 4.7 assists and 2.1 steals per game.
Cincinnati (17-9, 7-6 BIG EAST) has won five of its last seven games, but fell 85-69 at No. 4 Pittsburgh in its last game. Mike Williams led the Bearcats with 17 points and Larry Davis added 13 points in that game as UC shot 51.9 percent from the field. Junior guard Deonta Vaughn leads Cincinnati in scoring (15.7 ppg) and assists (4.6). Four players have buried at least 29 three-point goals, led by Vaughn's 64-of-188 (.340). Center Yancy Gates, a 6-9 freshman, averages 10.4 points and a team-high 6.0 rebounds per game.
