
Pitino, Knowles Preview Wednesday's Game against Providence

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino and sophomore guard Preston Knowles met with members of the media on Tuesday at the Yum! Center to preview Wednesday's game against Providence. The No. 7 ranked Cardinals and Friars will tip off at 7:32 p.m. ET at Freedom Hall in front of a nationally televised audience on ESPN2.
Louisville will play the second of two straight at home. U of L won for the 11th time in its last 13 games as the Cardinals beat DePaul 99-54 in Freedom Hall on Sunday. Preston Knowles scored 19 points in 13 minutes of action, burying 5-of-7 three-pointers. Earl Clark leads the Cards with 12.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per game, while Terrence Williams is dishing out a team-high 4.6 assists per game.
After bolting out to a 6-2 start in the BIG EAST, Providence (16-9, 8-5 BIG EAST) has won two of its last five games. The Friars won 78-68 over Rutgers at home last Saturday as Weyinmi Efejuku scored 25 points to lead four players in double figures. Efejuku leads a group of seven Friars who average between 8.1 and 13.7 points per game. Five current players have scored 1,000 career points.
