- The Cardinals have won four straight games in the Billy Minardi Classic, which was originated in 2002 to honor the memory of Billy Minardi, the brother-in-law of U of L head coach Rick Pitino who died in the terrorist attacks on 9/11/01.
- The Cardinals forced a season-high 25 turnovers tonight marking the seventh time in 10 games that the Cardinals turned the opposition over 16 or more times in a game. Louisville turned East Tennessee State, Western Carolina and Oral Roberts over 20 times earlier this season.
- Senior Jerry Smith tied his season-high with 17 points on 5-of-9 shooting from the field, including 3-of-6 from behind the arc. He also tallied 17 points in a win over Stetson on 12/2.
- The Cardinals shot 55.6 percent in the field in tonight's win over Western Kentucky. It marked the second straight game and the fourth time this season that Louisville shot better than 50.0 percent from the field in a game this year.
- Sophomore Samardo Samuels scored 14 points on 4-of-5 shooting from the floor, putting him in double figures for the tenth straight game this season. He has connected on 17-of-21 free throw attempts in the last two games.
- Senior Edgar Sosa has put together a solid three-game string for the Cardinals. He scored 17 points on 6-of-11 shooting from the floor in the win over Western Kentucky. In the last three games, Sosa is averaging 17.0 ppg and 5.0 apg.
- Senior Edgar Sosa was named the Most Valuable Player of the Billy Minardi Classic after scoring 17 points and five assists. Sosa connected on 6-of-11 from the field.
- Senior Chris Brickley tallied a career-high four points, besting his previous career-best of three points, which he did twice this season, including last Wednesday versus Oral Roberts
- The Cardinals tallied 102 points and are now 115-7 when scoring more than 80 points in the last 10 seasons. Louisville 85-6 under head coach Rick Pitino and 6-1 this season when scoring better than 80 points. The Cardinals scored better than 100 points for the first time since they beat Arizona 103-64 in the NCAA Regional Semifinals on 3/27/09.
- Sophomore Kyle Kuric registered a career-high 10 points and a career-best four rebounds in tonight's win over Western Kentucky. His previous career-high for points was nine against Indiana State on 12/6/08 and rebounds was three, which happened three other times in his career.
