
Women's Basketball Travels to No. 3 Tennessee

The University of Louisville women's basketball team will travel to Tennessee to face the No. 3 Lady Vols on Wednesday, Dec. 16 for the first meeting between the two teams at 7:00 p.m. in Thompson Boling Arena. The game will be televised live on Fox Sports South with Bob Kesling as the play-by-play announcer and Debbie Antonelli will be the color analyst.
Louisville enters the game with an overall record of 6-3, while coming off an 88-58 win over IUPUI on Sunday. The Cardinals are led by the sophomore duo of Becky Burke and Monique Reid. Burke leads Louisville in scoring averaging 15.6 points per game. She also leads the Cardinals from the 3-point line, knocking down 19 for the season. Reid is second on the team in scoring with 14.1 points per game. She also leads the team on the boards, averaging 8.1 rebounds per game.
Tennessee enters the game ranked third in the nation after winning their first eight games of the year. Sophomore Shekinna Stricklen leads three players averaging double figures with 16.1 points per game. Sticklen is also third on the team in rebounding, averaging 7.8 boards per game. Sophomore Glory Johnson ranks second on the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 14.0 points and 7.8 rebounds per game. Junior Angie Bjorklund is third on the team in scoring, averaging 13.9 points per game. Bjorklund also leads the team from the 3-point line, knocking down 23 on the season.
The game will also be broadcast live on WKRD. Jim Kelch will handle the play-by-play duites while Adrienne Johnson will provide the color commentary.
