Today's crowd of 20,078 is the 6th largest crowd in the history of Freedom Hall.
Today's win over Kentucky was the first over the Wildcats at Freedom Hall since an 81-63 on December 28, 2002.
The Cardinals forced the Wildcats into 14 first half turnovers, which led to 13 points for the Cardinals. The Wildcats finished the game with 21 turnovers, the third time Louisville forced the opposition into 20 or more turnovers.
Making his first start since December 20 versus Minnesota, junior Edgar Sosa registered a season-high 18 points in the game, including 8-for-9 from the free throw line. His previous best this season was 11 points versus South Alabama on 11/23/08.
After shooting 29.6 percent from floor in a loss to UNLV on Wednesday, the Cardinals connected on 46.8 percent from the floor in the win over the Wildcats
Senior Terrence Williams, who was held to just nine points versus UNLV, rebounded to score 19 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the floor, including 3-for-5 from behind the arc.
Louisville, who hit just 16 three-point field goals in its three losses this season, connected on 11-of-20 in the game versus Kentucky. The Cardinals are 8-0 when they hit eight or more trifectas in a game. The 55.0 percent from behind the arc was a season-best for the Cardinals.
Louisville, who entered the game as a 64.5 percent free throw shooting team, connected 19-of-23 from the charity stripe, which was the highest percentage in a game this season at 82.6
Junior Jerry Smith scored just 11 points, but was perfect from the field, going 3-for-3 and 3-for-3 from behind the arc. Smith was also 2-for-2 from the charity stripe.
The Cardinals recorded eight blocks in the game, the fourth time Louisville had eight or more blocks in a game. Louisville is 4-0 when recording eight or more blocks in a game.
