The Cardinals played their 800th career game all-time in Freedom Hall. U of L is 664-136 all-time in its 54th year in Freedom Hall.
The win over South Florida tonight was the eighth in a row for the Cardinals and their fourth in a row at home since a loss to UNLV on 12/31/08.
Senior Terrence Williams recorded 10 rebounds in the win over USF. It was the eighth time this season that Williams recorded 10 or more rebounds in a game. It was also the third time in five games that Williams had 10 or more boards in a contest. He also added five points and six assists.
Junior Earl Clark tallied 12 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor. He has now scored in double digits in 22 of 24 games dating back to last season.
Leading 33-32 at the half, the Cardinals opened the second half on a 22-3 run over the first 8:35 of the second half to take a 55-35 advantage.
After shooting 53.8 percent from the field in the first half, the Bulls were held to 37.0 percent shooting from the floor in the second half.
The Cardinals have handed out 19 or more assists nine times this season. Louisville handed out 21 assists, which was the sixth time for 20 or more assists in a contest. The Cardinals also turned the ball over just 11 times.
The Cardinals connected on 11-of-24 three pointers in the win over USF. It marked the 11th time that Louisville has hit eight or more trifectas in a game and are 11-0 in those contests. Louisville had seven different players connect on three-point field goals in the game.
The Cardinals scored 80 points in the win over South Florida and are 106-5 over the last nine seasons when scoring 80 points in a game. Louisville is also 78-5 under head coach Rick Pitino and 7-0 this year when scoring 80 points in a game. Louisville is also 143-25 when holding its opponents to less than 70 points in a game over the past eight years, including 13-2 this season.
