
McCoughtry Earns BIG EAST Player of the Week Honors

Louisville, Ky, - Louisville senior Angel McCoughtry was named BIG EAST Player of the Week for the third time this season. McCoughtry led the Cardinals to a 2-0 record with home wins over Seton Hall 76-47 on Jan. 6 and No. 17/16 Rutgers 64-59 on Jan. 11.
She finished the week averaging 29.5 points, 10.5 rebounds, 4.5 steals and 4.0 blocks per game. The senior forward hit 50.0 percent from the field, 68.0 percent from the foul line and made 4-of-9 3-pointers. McCoughtry recorded 28 points and 13 rebounds against Seton Hall for her seventh double-double of the season. She also had a career-high five blocks and added five steals. McCoughtry led all scorers with 31 points against the Scarlet Knights, while notching eight rebounds, four steals and three blocked shots. She scored 13 of her 31 points from the foul line and shot 9-of-20 from the field. McCoughtry wins the weekly award for the eighth time in her career.
