- Louisville had two 100-yard rushers in a single game for the first time since Oct 22, 2005 against Cincinnati when Michael Bush (127 yards) and George Stripling (117) accomplished that feat.
- Freshman RB Victor Anderson produced his second straight 100-yard rushing effort, gaining an efficient, career-best 176 yards on 18 carries and three touchdowns. For the season, he is averaging 7.6 yards per carry (42 rushes for 321 yards). Anderson is the first U of L player to produce three rushing TDs in a single game since Michael Bush had three TDs vs. Kentucky in the opening game of the 2006 season. Anderson had 114 yards on 12 carries in his last game against Tennessee Tech.
- RB Brock Bolen ran for 104 yards on 24 carries, his third career 100-yard rushing effort.
- QB Hunter Cantwell threw for a season-high 274 yards (second best of his career) with 33 attempts, a career-high 22 completions and two touchdowns. It was his second straight game with two TD passes and the fourth time in his career that he tossed two or more touchdown passes. Cantwell completed passes to eight different receivers.
- WR Doug Beaumont totalled nine catches for a career-best 119 yards.
- The Cardinal offense produced a season-high 577 yards, its most since gaining 671 in a 62-0 victory over Temple on Sept. 9, 2006. It was the second straight 400+ yardage game for the Cardinals.
- Louisville's defense, which entered the game ranked fifth in rushing defense, held Kansas State to 30 yards on the ground. U of L forced three turnovers.
- WR Josh Chichester caught an 18-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter from Hunter Cantwell, his first career TD reception. He had four receptions for 55 yards.
- C Eric Wood made his 40th straight start at center, while tackle DT Earl Heyman made his 28th consecutive start.
- Kansas State PR Deon Murphy's 86-yard punt return for a touchdown was the first time the Cardinals had allowed a punt return for a TD since Miami's Devin Hester had a 78-yard return for a score on Oct. 14, 2004.
- OT George Bussey and OG Mark Wetter missed the game with high ankle sprains. Bussey had his string of consecutive starts snapped at 27 straight. Greg Tomczyk and Josh Byrom started in place of Bussey and Wetterer, respectively.
- After allowing Kansas State 169 total offensive yards in the first half, the Louisville defense stiffened to limit the Wildcats to 22 yards on three third quarter possessions that ended in three-and-outs.
- The crowd of 42,208 was the 11th largest in Papa John's Cardinal Stadium history. Two of the Cardinals' three games this season rank among the all-time top 11 crowds.
