
Pitino Meets with Reporters to Recap 2007-08 Season

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino met with members of the media Wednesday at the Yum! Center to recap the Cards' 2007-08 season. U of L finished the season at 27-9 overall following an 83-73 loss to North Carolina in the East Regional final on March 29 at Charlotte Bobcats Arena.
The Cards finished with a 14-4 league record and tied for second in the BIG EAST Conference for the second straight season. After losing to Pittsburgh in the quarterfinals of the BIG EAST Championship, the Cards entered the NCAA Tournament as the No. 3 seed in the East Regional. Louisville earned wins over No. 14 seeded Boise State and No. 6 seeded Oklahoma in Birmingham, Ala., and earned a 79-60 win over No. 2 seeded Tennessee in the East Regional semifinal in Charlotte.
Louisville closed the season ranked sixth in the final ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll.
