
Women's Tennis Finishes Third At BIG EAST

The University of Louisville women's tennis team finished third with a 4-2 win over DePaul in the BIG EAST Tennis Championship held at USF's Varsity Courts in Tampa, Fla.
The Cardinal women, No. 41 on the April 13 ITA Rankings, edged 66th-ranked DPU in the doubles matches with wins at the Nos. 1 and 3 positions and captured the points in the Nos. 4-6 singles bouts for the victory. The scrappy duo of Natalia Baez and Bianca Gorbea won 8-4 at No. 1 over Beatrix Csordas and Selma Salkovic. Lindsey Jones and Jo-Ann Van Aerde scored the other doubles point with an 8-3 win .
Sophomore Natalia Baez defeated freshman Katarina Milinkovic 6-3, 7-5 in the No. 3 position, senior Robyn White eased past senior Beatrix Csordas in the No. 5 bout and sophomore Jo-Ann Van Aerde earned the victory in the No. 6 contest when senior Anja Mihaldinec retired the match at 6-2.
