
Pitino Previews Monday's BIG EAST Home Showdown with Syracuse

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino met with members of the media Sunday at the Yum! Center to preview Monday's BIG EAST home game against Syracuse. The Cardinals and Orange will tip off at 7 p.m. ET at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Ky., and the game will be televised nationally by ESPN.
The Cards, ranked 23rd in the latest AP Top 25, enter the game at 20-6 overall and atop the standings in the BIG EAST Conference with a 10-3 league mark following Saturday's 80-72 win at Providence, their fifth straight win overall. Sophomore Earl Clark led the way for Louisville with a game-high 20 points, nine rebounds, four assists, three blocks and two steals in the win.
Syracuse enters the game at 17-9 overall and 7-6 in the BIG EAST following a 77-70 home win over No. 8 Georgetown on Saturday as Paul Harris led the Orange with 22 points, while Jonny Flynn added 17 points and nine assists. Four active Syracuse players average scoring in double figures, led by 6-11 freshman Donte Green (17.9 ppg, 7.2 rpg) and 6-0 freshman Jonny Flynn (15.5 ppg, 5.2 apg).
