
Pitino Previews Tuesday's Road Game at DePaul

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino and sophomore guard Jerry Smith met with members of the media Monday at the Yum! Center to preview Tuesday's BIG EAST road game at DePaul. The No. 23 ranked Cardinals and Blue Demons will tip off at 9 p.m. ET at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Ill., and the game will be televised nationally by ESPNU.
The Cards enter the week at 18-6 overall and in third place in the BIG EAST Conference standings with an 8-3 league mark after knocking off No. 6 ranked league-leading Georgetown 59-51 on Saturday night at Freedom Hall. David Padgett had a season-high 18 points, grabbed four rebounds and handed out four assists to lead the Cards, who have won nine of their last 11 overall. Jerry Smith added 16 points and three assists, hitting 4-of-5 three-pointers.
DePaul enters the game at 10-13 overall and 5-6 in league play after rallying from an 11-point halftime deficit to beat visiting USF 69-61 on Saturday as Draelon Burns and Will Walker scored 22 and 21 points, respectively. Five DePaul players average better than eight points a game, led by 6-4 senior Draelon Burns (17.7 ppg, 3.6 rpg), who has hit 43-of-132 three-point goals this season, and 6-5 freshman Dar Tucker (12.8 ppg, 4.8 rpg).
