
Pitino Previews Saturday's BIG EAST Home Game Against Rutgers

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino and sophomore forward Earl Clark met with members of the media Friday at the Yum! Center to preview Saturday's BIG EAST home game against Rutgers. The Cardinals and Scarlet Knights will tip off at 3 p.m. ET at Freedom Hall in Louisville, Ky., and the game will be televised by ESPN Plus and WHAS-TV in Louisville.
The Cards enter the game at 15-6 overall and 5-3 in BIG EAST play following Monday's 69-67 loss at Connecticut as senior forward Juan Palacios led the way with 16 points, while senior center David Padgett added 12 points. Earlier this season, the Cards earned a 64-49 win over Rutgers in Piscataway, N.J., as sophomore guard led the way with 14 points in the victory on Jan. 13.
Rutgers enters Saturday's game at 10-12 overall and 2-7 in the BIG EAST following a 71-64 overtime loss to Seton Hall on Monday. Prior to that, the Scarlet Knights had snapped a six-game losing streak with back-to-back victories over Top 25 teams in beating then No. 18 Villanova and No. 13 Pittsburgh.
