LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino and freshman forward Jared Swopshire met with members of the media on Friday at the Yum! Center to preview Saturday's game against UAB. The Cards and Blazers will tip off at 4:05 p.m. ET at Freedom Hall on ESPN2.
Louisville will return home after a pair of games on the road and a week layoff. U of L fell 70-64 to Minnesota in the 2008 Stadium Shootout in Glendale, Ariz. last Saturday. The Cards had won five straight before falling to now No. 23 Minnesota. Earl Clark has produced a double-double in five of his last seven games. UAB (8-3) has won three straight and four of its last five games, including a 76-43 victory over Florida Atlantic on Dec. 22.
U of L will close out 2008 with its second of three straight home games as the Cardinals face UNLV in Freedom Hall on New Year's Eve (Wednesday, Dec. 31, 6 p.m., ESPN2).
