
Swimming and Diving Make Waves in National Poll

For the first time in school history, both the men's and women's swimming and diving team at the University of Louisville have achieved national rankings in the College Swim Coaches of America Association poll. The Cardinal men moved up No. 18 and the women are ranked No. 26 for the poll ending Oct. 30.
"This is a huge step for us, we need to spread the good news," said Arthur Albiero, U of L head swim coach.
The women's team started out their season with wins over Purdue and Miami of Ohio. The men's team, which features four Beijing Olympians in Vali Preda, Adam Madarassy, Andrei Radzionau and Pedro Oliveira. The men opened their season with a narrow loss to Tennessee that came down to the final relay race.
The Cardinals open their home season Nov. 7 against BIG EAST rival West Virginia. at 5 p.m. at the Ralph Wright Natatorium.
