LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's basketball team began its first official evening of practice in preparation for the 2008-09 season with a spirited two hour and 20 minutes workout at the Yum! Center.
"The guys went really hard with non-stop, fast-break, pressing basketball," said U of L Coach Rick Pitino. "They didn't take a break. The guys did a terrific job and I was very pleased with the first day. We've got a lot to work on in terms of playing at the pace we want to play, but the potential is definitely there."
The Cardinals plan to follow up Friday's session with two practices on both Saturday and Sunday with morning and evening sessions.
Fans can get a first look at the team at a Red-White intrasquad scrimmage on Sunday, Oct. 26 at 6 p.m. in Freedom Hall.
