
Pitino Previews Sunday's BIG EAST Road Game at Rutgers

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino met with members of the media Friday at the Yum! Center to preview Sunday's BIG EAST road game against Rutgers. The Cardinals and Scarlet Knights will tip off at noon ET at Louis Brown Athletic Center in Piscataway, N.J., and the game will be televised by ESPN Plus and WHAS-TV in Louisville.
The Cards, playing their first BIG EAST road game of the season, enter Sunday's game at 11-4 overall and 1-1 in conference play following a 63-54 win over West Virginia on Thursday night at Freedom Hall. Sophomore guard Jerry Smith led the Cards with 14 points, while sophomore forward Earl Clark added 11 points and a game-high 12 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season.
Rutgers enters the game at 8-8 overall and 0-3 in BIG EAST play following a 76-50 loss at Providence on Wednesday night. The Scarlet Knights are led by 6-9 junior forward JR Inman at 14.9 points per game and 8.3 rebounds per contest. This will be the sixth meeting all-time between the two schools.
