
Women's Tennis Completes Second Day at Tennessee Classic

The University of Louisville women's tennis team completed the second day of the St. Mary's Classic hosted by the University of Tennessee in a day full of singles play.
Freshman Lindsey Jones won her first match over Elvira Yusupova 6-0, 6-4 but then fell to Berkeley Brock in a three set battle 6-7 (4), 6-5, 6-2 in flight three. Over in flight five, Bianca Gorbea lost her first match to Wake Forest's Katerina Reveche 6-5, 7-6. She rallied to beat Middle Tennessee's Claudia Szabo 6-1, 1-6, 6-3. In flight six, Jo-Ann Van Aerde lost to Georgia's Adrienne Elsberry 6-0, 6-1 but turned the tables on East Tennessee State's Whitney Trotter 6-2, 6-1. Flight seven's Katherina Tomalak lost her first match 6-2, 6-1 to Notre Dame's Kali Krisik and then beat MTSU's Shannon Hartman 6-4, 2-6, 6-1. In flight eight, Natalia Baez advanced in the winner's bracket with a 6-3, 7-5 win over Alejandra Boeker 6-3, 7-5. She fell in three sets to Tennessee's Samantha Orlin 6-4, 5-6, 6-4.
