
Allen Named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week

Louisville, Ky. - Sophomore running back Anthony Allen was named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week after his performance in Louisville's 58-42 win over Middle Tennessee.
Allen set the U of L record for rushing yards in a game with 275 on 35 carries in the Cardinals' win on Thursday night.It broke the previous 29-year-old record of 269 yards by Nathan Poole against Wichita State on Nov. 4, 1978. It was the most rushes for a Cardinal since Michael Bush rushed 37 times for 159 yards against West Virginia on Oct. 15, 2005. It was the first time a U of L player rushed for over 200 yards since Michael Bush had 204 yards against Florida Atlantic on Oct. 1, 2005. Allen scored two touchdowns, the fifth time in his career that he scored two or more in a game.
The Cardinals travel to Lexington to face Kentucky on Saturday at 7:30 p.m.
