Louisville Notes
- U of L won its 19th straight game at home, the longest winning streak in school history and the second longest in the nation (behind USC).
- Senior quarterback Brian Brohm has throw four or more touchdown passes -- as he did today -- on five occasions in his career. He has had two or more touchdowns in a game 11 times in and has tossed as many as three scores six times. His 375 yards (16-of-21) marked the 12th 300-yard game of his career, which extends his BIG EAST all-time record.
- Senior WR Harry Douglas and junior WR Mario Urrutia extended their consecutive game streak with a reception to 16 games. Douglas' 151 yards on five receptions was the second most yards he has totalled in a game and marked his fifth game over 100 receiving yards. It was Douglas' fourth straight 100 yard receiving game.
- Sophomore WR Trent Guy's 54-yard punt return for a TD in the third quarter marked the Cards' first punt return for a touchdown since Guy brought one back 40 yards against West Virginia last season (11/2/06).
- Sophomore RB Anthony Allen's 56 yards on seven carries marked the second highest rushing total of his career.
- Junior RB Sergio Spencer's 60-yard effort was his second highest. He had 72 yards on 10 carries last year at Temple.
- True freshmen FS C.J. Peake, WR Doug Beaumont and OG Mark Wetterer made their Louisville debuts, while junior-college transfers CB Woodny Turenne and OG Abdul Kuyatah also made their debuts.
- Offensive guard Mike Donoughue made his first career start for the Cardinals on offense, while CB Travis Norton and SS Deon Palmer recorded their initial starts on the defensive side.
- Sophomore WR Scott Long made his first career reception.
- Senior safety Deon Palmer recovered his third career fumble in the first quarter.
- Louisville's 73 points were the third most in U of L history. (Top two: 100-0 over Washington, Tenn. on Oct. 18, 1913; and 79-0 over Ogden on Oct. 2, 1926).
- The crowd of 42,185 was the 10th largest ever at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
- Louisville's 655 yards of total offense marked its most since producing 671 yards at Temple last season.
