AUSTIN, Texas - Due to inclement weather moving through Austin, Texas, on Saturday, no University of Louisville athletes competed on the final day of action at the prestigious Texas Relays on the campus of the University of Texas.
With near freezing temperatures combining with strong rain and wind in the area, the Cardinals' coaching staff elected to withdraw the U of L athletes from today's events rather than risk injury with the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships just four weeks away. Scheduled to compete on Saturday for the Cards were Tone Belt in the high jump, Andre Black in the triple jump and Heather Trimiew in the 400m hurdles.
Up next, U of L will have several distance runners competing at the Mt. SAC Relays on April 13 in Walnut, Calif., while the remaining Cardinal athletes will compete at the Sea Ray Relays in Knoxville, Tenn., on April 11-14.
