
Black Finishes Third in Triple Jump at Drake Relays

DES MOINES, Iowa - University of Louisville sophomore Andre Black earned a third-place finish in the triple jump Saturday to lead the No. 7 ranked Cardinal men's track and field team at the Drake Relays.
Black, a native of Mobile, Ala., and the 2007 NCAA indoor triple jump champion, had a mark of 51 feet, 0.25 inches to finish third in a field of 25 of the nation's top collegiate jumpers. On Friday, Black finished second in the long jump competition to teammate Tone Belt.
On Saturday, Belt, a sophomore from Berkeley Springs, W.Va, and the 2007 NCAA indoor long jump champion, finished 10th in the high jump with a cleared height of 7-00.50, matching a season best in that event.
Up next, the Cards will compete at the BIG EAST Outdoor Championships on May 4-6 in Storrs, Conn., on the campus of the University of Connecticut.
