LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino and junior center David Padgett met with members of the media on Friday to preview Sunday's BIG EAST road game at Connecticut. The 20th-ranked Cards and Huskies will meet at 12:06 p.m. ET at the Hartford Civic Center and the game will be televised nationally by CBS.
The Cards enter Sunday's game at 20-8 overall and 10-4 in the BIG EAST following a 72-48 home win over St. John's on Wednesday at Freedom Hall. UofL has won four straight games, eight of its last 10 and 15 of its last 19 overall. UConn enters the game at 17-10 overall and 6-7 in conference play following a 65-55 win at Rutgers on Wednesday as Jerome Dyson paced the Huskies with 17 points.
This is the second meeting between UofL and UConn in 2007 as the Cards earned a 68-54 win over the Huskies in their first meeting on Jan. 22 at Freedom Hall. David Padgett (19 points), Terrence Williams (18) and Juan Palacios (16) combined to produce 53 points from the Cards' starting front line in that first meeting. Jeff Adrien had 11 points and a game-high 15 rebounds to lead UConn.
