
Pitino Previews Tuesday's BIG EAST Opener Against Cincinnati

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino met with members of the media Monday at the Yum! Center to preview Tuesday's BIG EAST opener at home against Cincinnati. The Cards and Bearcats will tip off at 2:30 p.m. ET at Freedom Hall and the game will be televised nationally by ESPN.
The Cards, playing their final of five straight games at home, enter the game at 9-3 overall riding a four-game winning streak following a 67-36 win over Iona last Saturday. Terrence Williams scored a season-high 22 points, hitting 4-of-7 three-point goals to lead the Cards in the win, while sophomore forward Derrick Caracter added 13 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
Cincinnati, coached by former U of L assistant Mick Cronin, enters the game at 5-7 overall after breaking a five-game losing skid by beating Miami (Ohio) 56-50 in downtown Cincinnati's US Bank Arena on Dec. 29. The Bearcats are led by sophomore guard Deonta Vaughn's 15.5 points per game.
