
Pitino Previews Saturday's Home Game Against Iona

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino met with members of the media Friday at the Yum! Center to preview Saturday's home game against Iona. The Cards and Gaels will tip off at 3 p.m. ET at Freedom Hall and the game will be televised locally by WHAS-TV.
The Cards, playing their fourth of five straight games at home, enter the game at 8-3 overall riding a three-game winning streak following a 73-49 win over Morehead State on Dec. 26. Sophomore guard Jerry Smith led U of L with 17 points hitting 5-of-6 three-point shots, while junior Terrence Williams added 17 points and seven assists in the win.
Iona, coached by former U of L assistant Kevin Willard, enters the game at 5-7 overall having won five of its last six games, including a 67-62 win over Western Michigan on Dec. 22. The Gaels are led by 6-7 senior forward Dexter Gray's 13.8 points per game, while 6-2 sophomore guard Milan Prodanovic is averaging 12.3 points per contest. Willard, in his first year at Iona, was an assistant at U of L for six years (2001-07).
