LOUISVILLE, Ky. - U of L will return to action for its second exhibition game of the season just two nights after its first contest as the Cardinals face Georgetown (Ky.) College on Wednesday. For the Halloween night event, treats will be provided to children attending the game and costumes are encouraged. Prizes will be awarded at a halftime contest for the best costumes for both adults and children. Cardinal spirit squad members will select contestants for the halftime costume contest.
U of L's inside presence was felt against Carleton as the Cardinals posted an 82-49 victory over the Ravens in an exhibition game on Monday (Oct. 29). Two Cardinals posted double-doubles in the victory -- David Padgett, who totaled 18 points, 13 rebounds and hit all seven of his shots from the field; and Derrick Caracter, who scored a game-high 21 points and grabbed 10 rebounds.
Georgetown opened its season Oct. 27 at home with a 90-54 victory over Asbury College. Gordon Chase, a 6-2 senior forward from Baltimore, Md., led the Tigers with 16 points and 10 rebounds against Asbury. Last season, the Tigers posted a 29-4 record, including a perfect 10-0 Mid-South Conference mark, made its 26th NAIA Tournament appearance and finished third in the NAIA final rankings.
