LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville football head coach Steve Kragthorpe, senior tight end Scott Kuhn and junior safety Bobby Buchanan met with members of the media on Monday to preview this week's homecoming game against BIG EAST foe Pittsburgh. The Cards and Panthers will meet on Saturday at noon ET at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium and the game will be televised by ESPN Regional and WHAS-TV.
After winning 20 straight home games, the Cards (4-4, 1-2 BIG EAST) have dropped two straight games to Syracuse and Utah at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium. Louisville is coming off a disappointing 21-17 loss at Connecticut on Friday night. Playing in rainy and blustery conditions, senior Brian Brohm was held to a season-low 228 yards and just one touchdown, while the high-octane offense was limited to just 321 yards.
The defense held strong for three quarters before allowing 14 fourth-quarter points. The Cards went ahead 17-7 in the fourth quarter when defensive tackle Earl Heyman scooped up a fumble and raced 32 yards for a touchdown. However, the Huskies scored twice in the final 10 minutes to drop the Cards to 1-2 in the BIG EAST.
Pitt moved to 3-4 overall and 1-1 in the BIG EAST with a 24-17 upset of No. 23 Cincinnati.
