LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The University of Louisville men's basketball program officially opened the 2007-08 season on Monday by hosting its annual media day activities at the Yum! Center on the U of L campus. Head coach Rick Pitino and the Cardinal players met with reporters to preview the upcoming season.
The Cards return four starters and 11 letter-winners from the team that advanced to the second round of NCAA Tournament and finished tied for second in the BIG EAST Conference with a 12-4 league mark. Overall, the Cards finished 2006-07 with a 24-10 record following the 72-69 loss to Texas A&M in the NCAA Tournament.
The Cardinals will host a Red-White intrasquad scrimmage on Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. ET at Freedom Hall. U of L will open the exhibition season on Oct. 29 against Carleton University at 7 p.m. ET at Freedom Hall and will open regular-season play on Nov. 17 at home against Hartford in the first round of the Findlay Toyota Las Vegas Classic.
