
Pitino Previews Saturday's BIG EAST Home Opener with Providence

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino and junior center David Padgett met with members of the media on Friday to preview Saturday's BIG EAST home opener against Providence. The Cards and Friars will meet at Noon ET at Freedom Hall and the game will be televised by ESPN Plus and locally on WBKI-TV.
The Cards enter the game at 11-5 overall and 1-1 in the BIG EAST following an 81-55 win at USF on Wednesday, UofL's sixth win in its last seven games. Providence enters the game unbeaten in the BIG EAST at 2-0 and 12-3 overall following a 91-69 win over Seton Hall last Saturday.
Pitino was head coach at Providence for two seasons from 1985-87 and guided the Friars to the 1987 NCAA Final Four.
