Louisville QB Brian Brohm
"I think we came out and played a good game. We finished pretty well. We scored on our first drive and that's what we wanted to do. We a really good performance."
(on his knee) "The knee feels really great. I felt comfortable and I didn't even think about it. It really helped that I had a lot of protection and didn't get hit very much. I really came away barely touched."
(on Michael Bush) "Losing a guy like Michael Bush, he's irreplaceable. You can't replace him with one guy. But we have a team of guys like George Stripling, Kolby Smith and Anthony Allen that can come in and try to replace him. Michael is irreplaceable and I really feel bad for him. He'll be back, he's a tough guy."
(on how it feels to win) "It feels great. We came out and played our game. We finished this time. It's great to come out here and get a victory."
Louisville RB Kolby Smith
(on the loss of Michael Bush) "I look at it as an opportunity, I know I have to do everything that I can to help the team win. The coaches said that Stripling and I had to carry the team. We know the receivers and the line are going to do their job so we have to carry the running game."
"We came out hard there were some points in the game where we didn't do as good as we wanted to but in the end we came out with the victory."
Louisville Head Coach Bobby Petrino
"We worked hard in camp on getting ready to be physical, but we didn't want to peak too early in camp. We played well in the first quarter and a half, but we gave up some big plays after that and we're not happy about that. The loss of Michael Bush was devastating and it was tough for our team. Michael will come back from it."
"We did have some guys with their heads down because you hate to lose a guy like that. He was our team leader when we returned from the bowl game and to see him play the way he did in the first half was a great sight. Our guys did step up and play well after that."
"Kolby and George are very good running backs, and they played really well last year when Michael was out (with injury). We will miss having a guy that physical in the backfield, but we're still very fast and athletic. Our guys will step up and play very well without Michael."
"I thought Brian did a great job tonight. I knew when he stood in there, got hit in the chest, held the ball to the very last moment and hit the receiver in stride that Brian Brohm was back."
"It's always hard to bounce back when you lose a player, especially a guy like Michael who means so much to this program. It's a very unfortunate part of the game, but it happens all over the country. It really hurts to see it with him because of what he's put into this program."
"He doesn't need a medical redshirt because he's never used his redshirt. Hopefully, he'll heal up as fast as he can and we'd love to have him back for another year. That'll be up to Michael and his family and they'll make the best decision for him."
Kentucky Head Coach Rich Brooks
"Well it was one of your worst nightmares. We did not play as physical as Louisville, we responded with some plays on defense and some plays on offense and they obviously took it to us. They are a very good football team. I felt we would match up a little bit better. One of our biggest disappointments was our inability to slow their running game down. They just crushed us with their running game. We played way to soft on defense particularly on the perimeter. We didn't get a lot of snaps, we couldn't get Louisville off the field."
"I am disappointed obviously that we didn't show up, that we didn't put it all together."
Kentucky WR Keenan Burton
(on Michael Bush) " I told Michael that I was there for him. He understands that, and I told him that he will bounce back like he always does. It means so much to me that he is successful and that he feels the same way about me. You hate to see people go down like that."
Kentucky LB Michael Johnson
"My nerves started to calm down and it was a great experience. It took a couple of plays to get comfortable and then things started to slow down. A couple of players got cramps, including myself. "
