Louisville Notes
- Senior running back Michael Bush is out for the season with a broken right leg. Bush sustained the injury at the 11:26 mark of the third quarter.
- Senior running back Michael Bush's three touchdowns tonight marks his 14th multiple touchdown game. It is also his 10th mutiple touchdown game in the last 11 games for the senior back.
- Senior Michael Bush's three touchdowns marks the fifth time the senior back has scored three touchdowns in a game during his career.
- Bush's 128 rushing yards are the 10th time the senior has rushed for over 100 yards in his career.
- Louisville's 631 yards of total offense are the 21st time in Petrino's tenure that the Cardinals have recorded over 500 yards of total offense. The Cards' 631 yards ranks as the third best total in the Petrino era with only 779 yards and 666 yards both against Houston in 2003 and 2004.
- Senior offensive lineman Kurt Quarterman made his 26th consecutive start. He holds the longest streak of consecutive starts on the team.
- Freshman Lattarrius Thomas is the first true freshman to start in a season opener under head coach Bobby Petrino. True freshmen Anthony Allen, Peanut Whitehead and L.T. Walker also saw action for the Cardinals.

- U of L improved to 23-1 when scoring over 40 points under coach Bobby Petrino. The Cardinals have produced over 40 points in 19 of the last 25 games.
- Tonight's point total of 59 marks the 11th time in Petrino's tenure that the Cardinals have scored 50+ points in a game. The 59 points is tied for seventh in the Petrino era.
- Junior kicker Art Carmody made 14-straight field goals before missing on his 15th attempt in the fourth quarter of today's game. Carmody currently holds the school record for career accuracy, converting 27 of 33 attempts, for a percentage of 81.8.
- In his first action on the field true freshman Anthony Allen finished the game with nine carries for 48 yards and one touchdown.
