
Petrino Previews Saturday's Showdown with Miami

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville football head coach Bobby Petrino, junior quarterback Brian Brohm and sophomore center Eric Wood met with members of the media on Monday to preview the 12th-ranked Cards' upcoming non-conference home showdown against No. 15 Miami. The Cards and Hurricanes will meet on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. ET at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium and the game will be televised by ABC Sports.
The Cards improved to 2-0 on the season after a 62-0 road win over Temple last Saturday, while Miami moved to 1-1 following its 51-10 victory over Florida A&M. Following the Miami game, UofL will return to the road to face Big XII foe Kansas State on Sept. 23 at Noon ET in Manhattan, Kan., and the game will be televised by Fox Sports Net.
Cards Ranked 12th in the Nation: UofL enters this week's game against Miami ranked 12th in both the Associated Press Poll and the USA Today Coaches Poll.

Series Info: This will be the 11th meeting between these two schools... Miami leads the overall series, 9-0-1... The Hurricanes defeated the Cardinals, 41-38, in the last meeting at the Orange Bowl in 2004. Louisville had a 24-7 halftime lead before Miami stormed back in the second half. The Cardinals amassed 507 yards in the loss... Miami is 4-0 all-time in Louisville, but this is Miami's first trip to Papa John's Cardinal Stadium.
