Men's Golf Wins Opening Fall Tourney

DeKalb, Ill. -- - The University of Louisville men's golf team opened the fall season by winning the Rich Harvest Farms Invitational on Sunday in DeKalb, Ill.
The Cardinals won the tournament with 895, which was 18 strokes better than second-place SMU.
Junior Derek Fathauer tied for first with SMU's Colt Knost, both firing 221. Derek fired a third-round score of 71 to tie for the lead after shooting 74-76 after the first two rounds.
Sophomore Adam Hadwin tied for third overall after fiting 73-75-76=224 and junior Daryl Fathauer was tied for sixth with 76-73-76=225. Freshman Lewis Kirton, who was playing his first collegiate match, tied for 15th overall with 74-75-80=229. Freshman Nick Newcomb tied for 36th with 84-77-76=237.
