
Dean Earns All-BIG EAST Conference Honor

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - University of Louisville senior guard Taquan Dean has been named to the 2005-06 All-BIG EAST Conference second team by a vote of the league's head coaches.
Dean is the Cardinals' leader in scoring and assists, averaging 16.5 points (ninth in the BIG EAST), 5.8 rebounds and 3.7 assists. His 82 three-point goals this year are the sixth most in a single season at U of L and the second highest of his career.
Dean will complete his career among the U of L career leaders in scoring (1,546 points, currently 17th at U of L), three-point goals (336, 1st) and free throw percentage (.831, fourth). He is one of five current Division I players with over 300 career three-pointers along with Duke's J.J. Redick, Syracuse's Gerry McNamara, Marquette's Steve Novak and St. Peters' Clark Keydren.
No 11 seed U of L (18-11 overall, 6-10 BIG EAST) will face sixth-seeded Pittsburgh (21-6, 10-6) in the first round of the BIG EAST Tournament presented by Aeropostale on March 8 at 9 p.m. in New York's Madison Square Garden. The complete All-BIG EAST team is listed below.
