The University of Louisville women's tennis team was edged 4-3 by visiting Marshall Friday evening at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
"The ladies played so very hard today," said U of L head coach Greg Davis. "Marshall is always a very tough team. They won their conference the past four years in a row."
The Cardinals took one match in the doubles competition, with Natalie Laszkowski and Bianca Gorbea winning at No. 2. However, Marshall came up a winner in the other two matchups to take the doubles point.
The Cardinals rebounded when No. 1 singles player Maria Klokotzky beat Lynzee Kever 6-7, 6-4, 10-8 in a three set battle. Suzanna Gracanin won at No. 3 and Laszkowski posted another point for the Cardinals with a three set win at No. 4.
