
Petrino Previews Saturday's Home Game with South Florida

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville football head coach Bobby Petrino and junior quarterback Brian Brohm met with members of the media on Monday to preview the upcoming BIG EAST home game with South Florida. The Cards and Bulls will meet on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET at Papa John's Cardinal Stadium and the game will be televised nationally by ESPNU.
The Cards enter the game at 8-1 overall and 3-1 in BIG EAST play after a 28-25 road loss at Rutgers last Thursday, while the Bulls are 7-3 overall and 3-2 in the conference following their 27-10 win over Syracuse last Saturday.
Cards Ranked 10th in the BCS, 10th and 12th in the Polls: UofL enters the USF game ranked 10th in the Bowl Championship Series (BCS) standings released on Nov. 12. The Cards are ranked 10th in the Associated Press Top 25 Poll and the Harris Interactive Poll, and 12th in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

Series Info: This is the fourth meeting between these two schools with USF holding a 2-1 advantage in the series that started in 2003. USF won the first-ever meeting between the two schools with a 31-28 double-overtime decision at Raymond James Stadium. UofL won the only meeting in Louisville in the series, 41-9, during the 2004 season. Last year, with the Cards ranked in the Top 10, USF handed UofL a 45-14 setback in Tampa, Fla., in the first meeting between the two schools as members of the BIG EAST Conference. Junior QB Brian Brohm threw for a career-high 389 yards in the loss.
