
Petrino Previews Saturday's BIG EAST Road Game at Syracuse

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville football head coach Bobby Petrino, senior defensive tackle Amobi Okoye and sophomore fullback Brock Bolen met with members of the media on Monday to review the Cards' 23-17 win over Cincinnati last week and preview the upcoming BIG EAST road game at Syracuse. The Cards and Orange will meet on Saturday at Noon ET at the Carrier Dome and the game will be televised by ESPN Regional (WBKI-TV in Louisville).
With the Homecoming victory over the Bearcats last Saturday, the Cards opened 1-0 in BIG EAST Conference play and improved to 6-0 overall on the season. Syracuse enters the game at 0-2 in the BIG EAST and 3-4 overall following a 41-17 loss at West Virginia last Saturday.
Cards Ranked Sixth in the Polls, Seventh in BCS: UofL enters this week's game at Syracuse ranked sixth in all three major polls (Associated Press Top 25, USA Today Coaches Poll and Harris Interactive Poll). The Cards debuted at No. 7 in the 2006 Bowl Championships Series (BCS) standings released on Sunday afternoon.
