
Rotaru Signs With Men's Tennis

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- - University of Louisville men's tennis coach Rex Ecarma has announced that Robert Rotaru has signed a National Letter of Intent join the Cardinals in the 2005-06 season.
Rotaru, a Toronto, Ontario native, is currently ranked No. 4 in Canada in singles and competed in the Canadian Open (juniors). The is the top-ranked player in Toronto and is No. 2 in Ontario.
"Robert is a perfect fit for our program and team," said Ecarma. He has a lot of confidence on the court and is a good student. Robert has fantastic potential. He is a multipurpose tennis player who is equally efficient in singles and doubles. He can play different styles of tennis, is versatile and extremely quick. Robert really enjoyed his visit on campus. He got along well with the team and coaching staff. He will definitely be a great addition to our already strong lineup."
U of L finished the 2005 regular season with a 21-9 overall record and a second place finish in the Conference USA Championship. The Cardinals are currently awaiting an at-large bid to the 2005 NCAA tournament which will be announced May 4.
