
Football Climbs to #22 in ESPN/USA Poll

Louisville, Ky. - Despite having a week off due to Hurricane Ivan, the University of Louisville football team vaulted up two spots to No. 22 in the ESPN Coaches' Poll and stayed at No. 24 in the Associated Press Poll.
Louisville (2-0) takes on the North Carolina Tar Heels (2-1) on Sept. 25 at 1:35 p.m. ET.
The Tar Heels own a 2-1 series advantage over the Cardinals, winning the last meeting, 28-10, in 1996. UNC is coming off a huge 34-13 win over Georgia Tech last Saturday.
The top five are the same in both polls with Southern California topping both charts followed by Oklahoma, Georgia, Miami and Texas. Ohio State and West Virginia, California and Auburn. Florida State holds down the No. 8 slot in the AP poll as Auburn and California round out the top 10.
