LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Nate Daniels, a 6-7 guard who played one season at the University of Louisville, will transfer to 2004 NAIA national champion Mountain State University in Beckley, W. Va. for his senior season.
"We've given Nate his release," said U of L Men's Basketball Coach Rick Pitino. "He wants a much bigger role in his basketball life and we agree that it's in his best interest to transfer to an NAIA school. He's a terrific young man and we wish him nothing but the best."
Daniels averaged 5.6 points and 1.6 rebounds as a junior last season after transferring from Broward Community College in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. He hit 40 of 97 three-point attempts on the season, scoring a season-best 18 points against Toledo.
