U of L Cardinal Caravan Will Make Six Area Stops

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - University of Louisville coaches and athletics staff members will make six stops in May and June with the "Cardinal Caravan" in an effort to reach out to U of L fans.
"This annual tour is a great way for our coaches to get out and meet the fans that fill our stadium and arenas each season," said Tom Jurich, Vice President and Director of Athletics at U of L. "Each year, the caravan grows and we look forward to some new locations this year. As we make the transition to the Big East Conference, this is one way we can greet and say thank you face-to-face to our many U of L supporters who are extremely excited about this move."
The Cardinal Caravan will kick off on May 21 at the Cardinal Classic Golf Tournament, an annual event at the Cardinal Club in Simpsonville, Ky. which will be followed by a dinner and speaking program featuring U of L coaches. Reservations for the tournament and dinner may be made by contacting the U of L Special Events office at (502) 852-1974.
Members of the U of L coaching and support staff will also visit Elizabethtown, Ky. on June 1; southern Indiana on June 3; west Louisville on June 7; Shelbyville, Ky. on June 15; and at Mike Linnig's restaurant in southern Louisville on June 17. Among those scheduled to appear at selected stops at the free events are Jurich, men's basketball coach Rick Pitino, football coach Bobby Petrino and women's basketball coach Tom Collen.
