
Men's Basketball Plays Xavier in NCAA First Round

INDIANAPOLIS - - The NCAA Division I Men's Basketball brackets were announced on Sunday evening and the University of Louisville men's basketball team will play Xavier in the first round on Friday, March 19 at 9:40 at the T.D. Waterhouse Arena in Orlando, Fla.
The Cardinals (20-9), the 10th seed in the Atlanta Bracket, will play the seventh-seeded Musketeers(23-10) out of the Atlantic 10 Conference for the right to play the winner of the #2 Mississippi State/#15 Monmouth game on Sunday. Xavier lost to Mississippi State 82-70 on Dec. 13, 2003.
U of L leads the all-time series between the two schools 25-16, but Xavier won the last meeting 81-79 in Anchorage, Ak. on Nov. 25, 1999 during the Great Alaska Shootout.
The Cards were one of six Conference USA schools to make the tournament, joining UAB, Charlotte, Cincinnati, DePaul and Memphis.
