- The Cardinals are a perfect 5-0 and have won all three championships in the first three years of the Billy Minardi Classic, which was started in 2002 to honor the memory of Billy Minardi, brother-in-law of U of L head coach Rick Pitino who died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.
- Senior Ellis Myles, the Conference USA's leading rebounder recorded double-digit rebounds for the sixth time in seven games and the 28th time during his career. He also produced his fourth double-double of the season and 12th of his career with 12 points and 12 rebounds.
- Head coach Rick Pitino picked up his 50th career win at Freedom Hall in his four seasons as head coach of the Cardinals. Pitino is 50-8 in Freedom Hall as head coach of the Cardinals. He's 63-8 all-time during coaching stints at Providence, Kentucky and Louisville.
- Junior Taquan Dean hit three or more 3-pointers for the the eighth time in 10 games this season. Dean remains third all-time in school history with 166 career trifectas. It also marked the fifth time that Dean hit four or more 3-pointers.
- The Cardinals out-rebounded the opposition for the eighth time in 10 games. The Cardinals held a 43-22 rebounding advantage, which was their largest of the season.
- Due to a snowstorm that hit the Louisville area tonight, a crowd of 8,325 attended the final game of the Billy Minardi Classic. It was the smallest crowd since 7,146 braved a snowstorm on Feb. 25, 1993 against UNC-Charlotte.
- The Cardinals tied a season-best for free-throw percentage by hitting 83.3 percent (25-of-30), which they also hit last night against IUPUI.
