Game Notes - Louisville vs. IUPUI - Billy Minardi Classic
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Louisville men's basketball head coach Rick Pitino met with members of the media on Monday to preview the Cardinals' home game against IUPUI on Tuesday in the Billy Minardi Classic. Tip-off between the Cardinals (6-2) and Jaguars (3-5) is set for 7 p.m. ET at Freedom Hall and the game will be televised by WDRB.
Fellow participants New Orleans (3-5) and Austin Peay (1-6) play in the second game. Presented by Anthem, BB&T, Frazier Rehab and Pepsi America, the event originated in 2002 to honor the memory of Billy Minardi, brother-in-law of U of L Coach Rick Pitino who died in the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center.

Following the Billy Minardi Classic, the Cardinals will have a brief Christmas break before playing Morehead State on Dec. 27 at 7:38 p.m. in Freedom Hall.
Also at the news conference, Pitino announced that senior forward Otis George will be out of action for the next 2-4 weeks with a stress fracture in his right foot. George's foot was stepped on in practice on Sunday, aggravated the injury within his second metatarsal.
After sitting out four games with a foot injury he suffered on Nov. 28, George played 21 minutes in the Cardinals' last game against Kentucky. He is the Cardinals' second leading rebounder, averaging 6.4 rebound and 7.6 points. The 6-8 senior from Roseau, Dominica, is the Cardinals' best interior defender and has brought an abundance of energy off the bench.
