Louisville Head Coach Bobby Petrino
"I was very impressed with our players' ability to prepare, play with a lot of emotion and take care of business. I was happy with the way our defense came back and showed a lot of pride. After that second half in the Miami game, they got back to being real aggressive, stopping the run, forcing turnovers and giving the offense good field position. It was just a good team game."
"I don't like having that many penalties, but I thought our execution was good on offense. Stefan did an exceptional job executing the offense. We still need to get him to slide (when finishing a run). We got everyone involved offensively. We had a lot of catches to different people, all three running backs got a lot of work and it was a real fun game for us."
"Monday, we did a great job in practice even though we were all still hurting from the loss (at Miami). We talked about that game and we came back and did a great job preparing for tonight's game."
On the play of the defense:
"They had a great plan going in and the players really understood what (USF) was going to do and what our plan was to stop them. I thought they did a nice job of bouncing back after the Miami game. We ran to the ball really well and we did a great job of gang tackling."
On the play of the offense:
"They gave us some different looks, especially with their defensive fronts. Stefan (LeFors) had to mix it up at the line of scrimmage and he used his experience to get us out of what would've been some negative plays and into some positive plays."
Senior QB Stefan LeFors
(on starting strong with 13 consecutive completions) "I can't say it's one thing that leads me to do that. It's a big game with a national audience and it's my senior year and I want to make the most of it. I'm out there playing and having fun and getting into a rhythm early."
"I'll take these receivers over anybody. The line gives me protection and our backs run really hard. We just attack, move forward and have fun."
(on coming back from the Miami loss) "We knew that one loss was going to ruin our season. We were anxious to get out and play. We jumped on them early and it was a great win for us."
"They tried to take away our running game with certain formations and that's fine with me. Our game plan was good and we came out and executed."
Senior TE Adam McCauley
"That was what the game plan was, to come out and have our defense force three and outs."
"The coaches stressed that we did not need to live in the past (Miami), don't keep your heads down and come back and face South Florida. I think that's what we did tonight."
"He's a great quarterback (Stefan LeFors). He knows how to read the defense. I have as much respect for him as I do anyone on this team. He is a big time quarterback."
