On being 2-0 "I really couldn't predict what our record would be. Besides our record, it's nice to be 2-0, but I like the way we're playing. I like the confidence we have. I like the way they've worked hard. I like the way we've traveled. We've gone to meetings properly and acted well on the plane and the bus. We've traveled like a more mature team that we really are."
On having a normal week of practice "This will be good for us to get into that routine. We've had all the time to get ready for Kentucky and two weeks to get ready for Syracuse. This will be good for us. Last night, the coaches started game planning. It will be good to get into a three-day practice routine."
On the team picking things up quickly "I've been happy with the way we've executed so far, and not hurting ourselves. Being new and having a new offense and defense, is very encouraging. So far, we haven't hurt ourselves as far as taking care of the ball or really bad penalties. We had a few the other night that hurt us. Right now, we're not beating oursleves, and when you don't beat yourself you have a chance to win."
On Michael Bush Michael's been great. He's not only a gifted and talented player, but he's such a good person. You saw how excited the other players were when he scored the touchdown, and how excited he was. I think the one thing that Mike realizes that this is a big jump from high school to college, and he understands that. He knows there's a lot to learn. I think he's been good about understanding what we're trying to do."
On the importance of having an improved running game "It's been very important to us, because it's taken the pressure off of Stefan. It's allowed us to utilize our play action and naked game, and really do the things we want to do. I'm really impressed with our offensive line. I think anytime you come off the ball like they have, it's good, and they like it. It's taken a lot of pressure off of them. Eric Shelton is the type of player that gets better and better. He's seeing things. He's been patient. When the game goes on, his power starts to show up more and more, and that's a credit to his conditioning."
